We’re Looking for Austin Host Families for the 2018-2019 School Year
Each year, Academic Year in America (AYA) brings high school students from around the world to spend an academic year or semester with families in the U.S. to share life-changing experiences and build unforgettable memories, lasting friendships, and open lines of communication through cultural exchange.
Host families can host for a full academic year or for a semester. Students come from more than 50 different countries, have at least 3 years of English study, and are 15-18 years old.
Who can be a Host Family?
There is no typical host family. Retirees, single parents, and young couples are all able to give an AYA international student a good home. Some host families may not have children of their own. Host families come from many walks of life and represent different generations. They come from all over the United States and live in urban, suburban, and rural areas.
What is Required of a Host Family?
A host family’s responsibility is to provide the student with a bed of his or her own, a place to study, and breakfast and dinner.
Join thousands of families across the United States who want to make the dream of an international student come true, make special friends for life, and bring more international understanding to our world.
